I always had a good handwriting. At school, this used to earn me a premium in marks for legibility and neatness. Even then, I always wanted to further improve my handwriting. One of my father's friends is an artist. He does painting and calligraphy. I learnt calligraphy from him when I was in the 5th class. The technique that I used was 'Ghoting'. Basically, he wrote out a set of alphabets for me and then I practiced writing over them. After that I was on my own, learning new fonts and styles.

I use calligraphy in making greeting cards for special friends. Recently, I've started a small business at IIMB, which gives a turnover of Rs.80-100 per month. I specialize in making Nameplates for doors, Birthday charts to be put on the notice board and Customized greeting cards. If you are in need of any of these services, feel free to contact me at I-210, IIMB or mail me at [email protected]

I will soon put some samples here.

There are very few good sites on Calligraphy on the net. Obviously so, since people are typing more than they are writing. Some of these sites are good ones.
